This weeks article is a collection of world building articles from other authors. I’ve been reading (or watching) these articles during the past month or so and thought they would be of interest and use to you all.

Starting A World Building Bible
This is a video by Hannah L Clark on what world building is and how to start building your own world building bible.
World Building Bibles are important as they help you keep track of your world as it grows bigger and bigger. Also they are not only useful for yourself when writing more stories in your world but hardcore fans will love them too. Not to mention design and production crews will love reading it if your story is ever turned into a film or game.
A Dan – Phonetics And Writing System
Jeno Marz produces some exceptional articles about her world as well as other scientific subjects relating to world building. I’m a big fan and even better is that she is in the process of moving all of her articles over to a new website (which is much prettier and easier to read than the current site). I’ve linked to an article on the new website below.
Many people have been asking me about creating fantasy languages and how to do it. Jeno’s article shows you exactly what you need to create a realistic language. It’s a time consuming and tough job but Jeno does it amazingly well.
If you only read one article from this list then read this one!
Dishonored Teaches The Freedom And Dangers Of World Building
Dishonored is a new video game developed by Arkane Studios and published by the ‘World Building Giant’ Bethesda. This is an interesting article about the world building that has gone into the game and the dangers that can occur when building a world to a budget.
I hope you find these world building articles useful. Next week we’ll be back on the road of drawing our own maps. So if you haven’t done so already then you can sign up to The World Building School’s email newsletter to keep up to date with new articles.
