Thanks Jaime, I love the subject matter too 😀

I’ll have to check out Ultimate Endings by Danny & David. Do you know if they have launched the website yet?

Have you published your try at CYOA anywhere? I wrote a 2 branch story for the “experiments in narrative” part to my degree. If I ever get Pen9 Writing launched again I’ll publish the CYOA story on there. Unfortunately that website was running on my old server which died and I haven’t had the opportunity to transfer it yet.

All the best

In fact, I got your email just after I had a brilliant conversation with Danny McAleese, who is, along with his partner, David Kristoph, launching a new website dedicated to CYOA (choose-your-own-adventure) books, called Ultimate Endings.

NOTE: “Choose-Your-Own-Adventure” is a trademarked name, but one that most people know, which is why i used the term.

I was the illustrator for their books.

Danny was explaining the process of how they write such cool stories and after reading your article, noticed they do indeed follow that second person narrative. Very cool.

Never thought about writing for video games, but I did try my hand at a CYOA myself in 2013. It was a fun process and I do recommend the experience for anyone with a good imagination and some basic writing skills. The end result is something that can be enjoyed over and over again!

Cheers,

Jaime
